Job summary

Leonardo invites industrial placement students to join the CS3 team across the UK, including Edinburgh and Luton. You will gain hands‑on experience on real projects, bridging theory with practice in systems engineering, digital tools and support solutions.

You’ll work with expert engineers, tackle challenging problems, and potentially secure a path to a graduate programme. A hybrid working model supports time in the workplace and remotely.

Qualifications

• Minimum predicted 2:2 degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related STEM subject.
• Demonstrated curiosity and a proactive approach to learning and problem solving.
• Evidence of teamwork, communication skills and the ability to work with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical knowledge to investigate problems and contribute ideas within the team.
• Develop Systems Engineering skills across design, development, integration and verification.
• Apply academic knowledge to real engineering challenges within cost and schedule constraints.
• Collaborate with engineers and specialists from multiple disciplines and share ideas.
• Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand needs and operational context.
• Capture, analyse and manage requirements, and support data-driven engineering decisions.
• Create data analyses, modelling, visualization and dashboards for insights.
• Deliver work to a high standard following engineering processes and standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, methods and tools.
