Job summary

ENGIE UK is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer at First Hydro Company, based at Dinorwig Power Station in Llanberis. You will defend OT and IT systems across hydro assets, contributing to a decarbonised energy future.

You will implement security controls, conduct vulnerability management, and support incident response, with opportunities for professional development and industry certifications in a collaborative industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification and experience in IT, Computing, or Electronic Engineering.
• Hands-on experience supporting cyber security controls in operational environments.
• Knowledge of Industrial Cyber Security and OT environments.
• Familiarity with Windows PC and Server OS, networking protocols, and Android device configuration.
• Understanding of power industry operations and IT business processes.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of cyber security controls across IT and OT environments.
• Assist with security incident detection, investigation, and response activities to protect critical energy infrastructure.
• Conduct vulnerability management activities, including scanning, remediation tracking, and security log reviews.
• Support the deployment of security solutions such as multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, privileged access management, and monitoring tools.
• Assist with secure configuration of equipment and participate in security testing and validation activities.
• Deliver small projects within agreed timescales and contribute to the company's IT strategy and investment plans.
• Provide first-line technical support and guidance to colleagues on cyber security best practices.
