Job summary

ENGIE UK is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer for First Hydro Company in Llanberis to defend OT and IT systems powering hydro assets. The role offers exposure to industrial cyber security in a renewable energy setting, with opportunities to grow skills and influence security outcomes across sites.

You will collaborate with experienced professionals, support security controls, and contribute to safeguarding critical infrastructure while supporting the UK energy transition.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in IT, Computing, or Electronic Engineering.
• Hands-on experience supporting cyber security controls in operational environments.
• Good knowledge of cyber security principles, especially Industrial Cyber Security and OT environments.
• Familiarity with Windows PC/Server OS, networking protocols, and Android device configuration.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and improvement of cyber security controls across IT and OT environments.
• Assist with security incident detection, investigation, and response to protect critical energy infrastructure.
• Conduct vulnerability management activities, including scanning, remediation tracking, and security log reviews.
• Support deployment of security solutions such as MFA, endpoint protection, PAM, and monitoring tools.
• Assist with secure configuration of equipment and participate in security testing and validation.
