About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturing facility, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Industrial Maintenance Supervisor to lead their maintenance team in Randburg, Gauteng . This pivotal role involves overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring the optimal functioning and longevity of all plant machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for managing a team of skilled technicians, coordinating maintenance schedules, troubleshooting complex equipment failures, and implementing preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of industrial machinery, and a commitment to safety and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor a team of industrial maintenance technicians, ensuring adherence to work schedules and quality standards.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee all preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities for plant machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on production equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the maintenance department.
• Manage spare parts inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing critical components.
• Implement and continuously improve maintenance procedures and best practices.
• Collaborate with production management to minimize equipment downtime and support production targets.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and repair costs using the CMMS.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks with the maintenance team.
• Participate in the evaluation and procurement of new maintenance equipment and technologies.

Requirements

• A relevant trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related industrial field.
• A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proven expertise in maintaining and repairing a wide range of manufacturing machinery, including conveyor systems, motors, pumps, and automation equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work order tracking and asset management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and implement effective maintenance strategies.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial environment.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work shifts or overtime as required in the Randburg, Gauteng area.
• Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
