Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an Industrial Electrician to join The Mond Nickel Refinery team in Swansea. The role involves wiring systems, fault diagnosis, and maintenance of AC/DC drives, PLCs, and instrumentation in a heavy industrial setting.

Base salary ranges from £37,893 to £40,121 with overtime, an annual bonus, and a shift allowance potential. 37.5 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, 12-month FTC, with training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering.
• BS7671 18th Edition and C&G 2391 qualifications are required.
• Preferably five years' experience in heavy industry or refining.

Responsibilities

• Work with wiring systems including SWA, MICC, T&E and conduit.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in an industrial environment.
• Work with AC and DC drives, servos and motors.
• Undertake PLC fault finding.
• Carry out HV and LV isolation and switching.
• Work with pressure, flow and temperature loops.
• Install and maintain single and three-phase wiring systems.
• Work with various motor starter methods and circuits.

Introduction

Requirements

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Strong electrical fault-finding knowledge is essential.
• Ability to work shifts and respond to call-ins when required.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Commitment to safe working practices and environmental standards.
• HNC qualification and experience using maintenance systems such as SAP are preferred.
