Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an Industrial Electrician to join the team at The Mond Nickel Refinery in Swansea, one of the world's leading nickel refineries owned and operated by Vale Europe. The role includes wiring systems, fault diagnosis, and maintenance of AC/DC drives, PLC fault finding, HV/LV isolation, and instrumentation.

A recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship and relevant experience are required; a base salary of £37,893–£40,121 plus overtime and a company bonus is

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering.
• BS7671 18th edition and C&G 2391.
• Five years' relevant industry experience, preferably in heavy industry or refining.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Strong electrical fault-finding knowledge.
• Willing to work shifts and respond to call-ins.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Commitment to safe working practices and environmental standards.
• Preferred: HNC qualification and SAP experience.

Responsibilities

Swansea | £37,893 - £40,121 plus overtime and annual bonus | Monday to Friday (flexible) | 12-month FTC

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an Industrial Electrician to join the team at The Mond Nickel Refinery in Swansea, one of the world's leading nickel refineries owned and operated by Vale Europe.

Key Duties

• Work with wiring systems including SWA, MICC, T&E and conduit.


• Diagnose and resolve faults in an industrial environment.


• Work with AC and DC drives, servos and motors.


• Undertake PLC fault finding.


• Carry out HV and LV isolation and switching.


• Work with pressure, flow and temperature loops.


• Install and maintain single and three-phase wiring systems.


• Work with various motor starter methods and associated circuits.

Requirements

• Base salary of £37,893 rising to £40,121 upon competency sign-off.


• Overtime paid at x1.75 premium rate.

• Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours with potential to move onto shift work carrying a £5,391 per annum shift allowance pro rata.
