Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting Mechanical Maintenance Technicians for Vale Europe at Mond Nickel Refinery in Clydach, Swansea. The role is full-time, Monday-Friday with an on-call rota, offering a starting salary of £37,893 rising to £40,121 after training, plus overtime and a 10% annual bonus.

Join a stable, safety-driven engineering team and contribute to maintaining pumps, conveyors and other equipment.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
• Demonstrable experience in a heavy industry or manufacturing environment.
• CCNSG Site Safety Passport - essential.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness and ability to work in confined spaces and at height.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance.
• Respond to plant breakdowns during working hours and as part of an on-call rota.
• Work with pumps, motors, conveyors, belts and drives.
• Machine basic engineering parts using lathes, milling machines and centre bores.
• Maintain a strong focus on health and safety compliance.
• Wear Breathing Apparatus and work in confined spaces or at height, as required.

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting Mechanical Maintenance Technicians on behalf of our prestigious client, Vale Europe, for ongoing positions at their world-renowned Mond Nickel Refinery in Clydach, Swansea.

Requirements

• Completed a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.

• Demonstrable experience in a heavy industry or manufacturing environment.

• In-depth knowledge of rotational and mechanical equipment.

• Competent in basic machining operations.

• CCNSG Site Safety Passport - essential.

• Full UK driving licence.

• Willingness and ability to work in confined spaces and at height.

• Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota.
