Position Overview:

Murray Cable, part of Finning (UK) Ltd, is an electrical services contractor providing design, estimating, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning. We have extensive experience working with blue chip companies across various sectors.

We are seeking a qualified electrician to join our team. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical distribution systems and associated equipment.

Salary and Benefits:
  • Salary: £20.21 per hour (basic)

Working Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Major Job Functions:
  • Install, maintain, modify, and repair electrical distribution systems and equipment
  • Inspect and test components such as transformers, transfer switches, and switchgear
  • Use blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals to complete projects
  • Survey electrical systems, circuits, and plans
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand and power tools; terminate power/control/monitoring wiring
Specific Skills:
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and rapport-building with clients and colleagues
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills
Knowledge:

Extensive knowledge and experience in electrical systems and practices

Accountability:

Work on industrial and commercial projects (not domestic), adhering to BS 7671 (18th Edition) wiring regulations, national electrical codes, and NICEIC standards.

Education and Experience:
  • CSCS Electrician's grade/JIB card
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
  • Test & Inspection qualifications (2394/2395 or 2391)
  • Full UK driving license
  • Experience with fire alarm systems and containment installation (ladder, tray, basket, galvanised conduit)
  • Desirable: Confined space, PASMA, MEWPs/IPAF, first aid, CompEx, and SMSTS or SSSTS qualifications
