Job summary
GPS Links is seeking a Software Engineer – Industrial Automation to design and develop PLC software, simulate and test per FDS/URS, and support iFAT, cFAT, SAT. You’ll contribute to industrial networks and SCADA/HMI applications, with UK travel for site-based work.
The role covers on-site commissioning, collaboration with engineers and clients, and adherence to QMS. A strong PLC background, problem-solving, and willingness to travel within the UK are essential; a full UK driving licence is
Qualifications
- Experience with PLCs and automation delivery lifecycle.
- On-site commissioning and testing across projects.
- Exposure to water/utilities/energy environments is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop PLC software based on FDS/URS specifications.
- Set up, configure, and validate industrial networks; develop SCADA/HMI apps.
- Provide on-site and remote commissioning support and diagnose issues.
- Collaborate with engineers, electricians and clients to deliver solutions.
- Ensure software and testing comply with QMS and client requirements.
