Job summary

Rise Executive Search & Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Area Sales Engineer for Scotland East in the Industrial Electrical Control & Automation sector. The role is field-based with visits to customer sites, offering £45K-£60K plus a company car, pension, and holiday buy/sell facilities.

You will bridge engineering challenges with hardware/software solutions, manage a regional territory, and drive new business while maintaining key accounts.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field is desirable but industry knowledge ok.
• Proven B2B technical sales experience in industrial automation or capital equipment.
• Familiarity with major platforms (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric) and protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
• Strong communication and ability to explain technical concepts to engineers and non‑technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities across industries.
• Conduct site visits; provide tailored technical proposals for PLCs, HMIs, VSDs, sensors, and gear.
• Demonstrate products and Industry 4.0 solutions including IIoT and robotics.
• Maintain and grow existing accounts by acting as a trusted partner and technical advisor.
• Prepare detailed quotations and manage negotiations on payment and delivery terms.
