Job summary

Praxis Care is seeking a Support Worker in Newtownabbey on a temporary 9 month contract, based on 39 hours per week and pro rata to contracted hours. The role supports individuals to improve independent living skills and follows person-centred plans. Sleep-ins may apply with extra pay where required.

Essential criteria include numeracy, literacy, and effective communication; desirable experience in health and social care. AccessNI checks are required, and sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Support and empower individuals to develop independent living skills as per person-centred plans.
• Collaborate with Team Leaders to implement individual and group support programmes.
• Promote a safe working and living environment and manage conflicts using appropriate techniques.
• Ensure medication is stored and administered in accordance with policy.
• Record information accurately according to service reporting guidelines.
• Attend training and follow Health & Safety policies.
