Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking a part-time Support Worker to help adults with a learning disability and/or autism live as independently as possible. You will work in a small team to enable service users to enjoy lifestyles they choose, supporting with personal care, daily tasks and community activities.

Training is provided, with the role including administration of medication and updating care plans.

Qualifications

• You will hold a Care-related certificate at Level 2 or above and demonstrate written and spoken English for case recording and communication.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and knowledge of safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical support to service users to promote independence.
• Assist with personal care, cleaning, shopping and accessing community activities.
• Administer medications as required.
• Update support plans and risk assessments using IT.
• Work on a 4-week rota including weekends and Bank Holidays; sleep-ins may be required.
• Participate in training and development opportunities.
