A specialist DV support organization in Greater London is looking for an Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate (IDVA) to provide support to survivors of domestic violence. The successful candidate will perform risk assessments and offer crisis support while maintaining confidentiality. Ideal candidates should possess extensive experience in domestic violence advocacy and demonstrate excellent communication skills. This position is exclusively for women applicants under specific UK legislation.

You will be joining a team of committed and inspiring individuals whose dedication has saved the lives of thousands of women, and children.
You will be working with survivors/victims who have experienced domestic violence, by securing their safety, where applicable that of their children and by providing crisis support .

Extensive experience in DV or VAWG, including experience of carrying out risk and needs assessment, casework and safety planning
About You
Ideal candidates will have experience of working intensively with survivors and be adept at risk and needs assessment and support planning.
You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the intersection between domestic abuse and multiple disadvantage, a developed understanding of how this can make it difficult for women to engage with support, and an ability to reflect on your own practice.
This service is run by women for women and is therefore restricted to women applicants under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, and Part 1. Section 7(2) e of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 apply. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
An enhanced DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) disclosure will be required for this role.
