Our Organisation
Age UK Birmingham & Sandwell is a dynamic and expanding charity that provides a range of services and programmes for people aged 50 and over. Our Independence at Home Services enable older people to live at home independently and safely for longer. These include our Birmingham Home Falls Prevention Service, the Sandwell Improving Strength & Balance for Falls Prevention Programme, and our Dudley Stepping Out Footcare Service.
Job Purpose
To oversee the delivery and co-ordination of a portfolio of services and projects, which promote safe, independent living for older people. Ensuring a high quality, person-centred experience for service users in line with current best practice.
Principal Duties:
• To lead the development and delivery of services and projects aimed at enabling safe and independent living.
• To manage all independent living projects and achieve targets set by funding contracts
• To manage and support staff and volunteers, to achieve high quality person-centred delivery and targets.
• Create and implement an effective marketing plan to promote services and projects.
• To ensure risk assessments are carried out for all activities and health and safety procedures are followed.
• To ensure the safeguarding process and reporting mechanisms are followed
• To manage expenditure within allocated budgets
• To keep up to date with developments in falls prevention best practice.
• To manage the process of maintaining accurate and up to date records for all activities and ensuring internal and external reporting requirements are met.
• To monitor and evaluate the service user experience to develop and improve services
• To develop partnerships with key stakeholders such as Health & Social Care Workers and other voluntary sector organisations.
• To represent Age UK Birmingham at strategic partnership meetings.
• To attend and participate actively in all Operations Team Meetings and compile all necessary reports as and when required.
• To undertake any other duties commensurate to the post not specifically mentioned in this job description.
