Job summary

Nottingham College is seeking a Learning Support assistant to help students with visual impairments across campuses. You will work within the Inclusion and Support team, supporting pupils in classrooms, adapting materials, and coordinating exam access arrangements.

Ideal candidates have strong communication skills and Level 2 Maths/English. The role is part-time, term-time, with pro-rated salary and LGPS benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning support for students with visual impairments across campuses.
• Assist teaching colleagues in classrooms and follow TLIP recommendations.
• Develop and implement exam access arrangements with specialists.
• Assess learner needs and suggest support strategies.
• Support student development including transition, enrolment and induction.
• Modify learning resources and set up specialist VI equipment as needed.
• Attend EHCP reviews and liaise with external professionals.
