Job summary

Nottingham College is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to help students with complex and diverse needs, with a particular focus on Neurodiversity. You will work within the Inclusion and Support team across campuses, supporting teaching colleagues and contributing to access arrangements and learner development.

You’ll bring Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent, experience in learning support, and a commitment to confidentiality and inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Hold Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent.
• Experience supporting people with learning support needs.
• Knowledge of inclusion/range and implications of disabilities/self-advocacy.
• Maintain confidentiality and have a tolerant approach.
• Maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Work as Learning Support for students with complex and diverse needs, focusing on Neurodiversity.
• Support within classrooms under the direction of teaching colleagues and TLIP recommendations.
• Write, update and implement students’ support documents including exam access arrangements.
• Assess learner needs and suggest strategies to support them.
• Support development including transition visits, enrolment and induction.
• Contribute to learning resource preparation and setup of specialist equipment.
• Attend EHCP reviews and liaise with external professionals as appropriate.
• Maintain student records and support targets and independence.
