  • Compliance: An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to undergo one) is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Academic Support: Adapt learning materials into accessible formats (such as large print, tactile resources, or audio) to ensure students can fully participate in lessons.
  • Classroom Collaboration: Work closely with class teachers and specialist visual impairment advisors to implement tailored Support Plans.
  • Assistive Technology: Guide and support students in using specialized equipment, software, or braille resources where required.
  • Mobility & Independence: Assist students with safe transit around the school campus, fostering their confidence and independence.
  • Emotional Wellbeing: Provide a supportive, encouraging, and safe environment that builds the student's self-esteem and social skills.
