Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a mainstream secondary school in Newark, Nottinghamshire, seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to provide positive classroom support across the secondary age range.

You will work closely with teaching staff to help students engage with lessons, support those with additional needs and foster an inclusive learning environment, with a long-term placement and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people within an education or similar setting.
• Experience supporting students with additional needs.
• A patient and supportive approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students.
• A flexible and adaptable attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide general classroom support to students across the secondary age range.
• Work closely with teaching and support staff to assist students with their learning.
• Encourage engagement in lessons and help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
