Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a mainstream secondary school in Newark, Nottinghamshire, seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to provide positive classroom support across the secondary age range.

You will work closely with teaching staff to help students engage with lessons, support those with additional needs and foster an inclusive learning environment, with a long-term placement and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people within an education or similar setting.
• Experience supporting students with additional needs.
• A patient and supportive approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students.
• A flexible and adaptable attitude.

Responsibilities

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school in Newark that supports students with a range of additional needs. The school is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant who can provide positive classroom support and help students engage successfully with their education.

The school is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, providing general classroom support to students across the secondary age range. The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching and support staff to assist students with their learning, encourage engagement in lessons and help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people within an education or similar setting
• Experience supporting students with additional needs
• A patient and supportive approach
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students
• A flexible and adaptable attitude
