Job summary

East Dunbartonshire Council is recruiting to support young people with additional support needs at Boclair Academy and other schools. The position is temporary and pro-rated for part-time and term-time hours.

You will assist with personal care, support learners with tasks, and supervise pupils across settings including playgrounds, corridors and trips, under the direction of teaching staff. A caring, patient approach and proven ability to build positive relationships are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with children and young people with additional support needs.
• A relevant childcare qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to pupils with additional support needs in Boclair Academy and other schools.
• Assist with personal care and help pupils follow learning activities.
• Supervise pupils in the playground, corridors, dining area, PE and during trips.
• Establish positive relationships with children and monitor wellbeing.
• Comply with PVG/Disclosure requirements and safeguarding procedures.
