Job summary

East Dunbartonshire Council is seeking Pupil Support Assistants on a supply basis to cover absences across its schools. Posts are peripatetic, with movement between locations over weeks or months.

The role supports children and young people with additional support needs and may involve working across primary or secondary settings. Grade 4 PSA, with responsibilities including small-group or individual pupil support, personal care, supervision in common areas, and contributing to school support

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people is essential.
• Desirable experience with pupils with additional support needs.
• Relevant childcare qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to children and young people with additional support needs.
• Support pupils individually or in small groups as directed by class teachers.
• Supervise pupils in various school settings (playground, corridors, dining area, PE, trips).
• Contribute to support programmes within the school setting as advised by other professionals.
• Help ensure a safe and secure environment in the school.
