Job summary

East Dunbartonshire Council is seeking a Pupil Support Assistant (Grade 4) to support pupils with additional needs at St Ninian's High School, Kirkintilloch. The role is part-time for term time with pro-rated pay and possible relocation between EDC schools.

You will assist with personal care, supervise pupils, and support learning activities under the direction of teaching staff. PVG/Disclosure checks are required. A childcare qualification is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people with additional support needs.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with children and young people.
• Childcare qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually or in small groups as directed by the class teacher.
• Support pupils' personal care needs.
• Provide supervision for pupils (playground, corridors, dining, PE, trips).
• Contribute to school-based support programmes as advised by other professionals.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment.
