Job summary

East Dunbartonshire Council invites applications for Pupil Support Assistants to work in council schools on a temporary term-time basis. You will help pupils with additional support needs, assisting with personal care and learning activities under the guidance of teachers, with duties across playgrounds, dining areas and trips.

This peripatetic role requires PVG/Disclosure checks. The salary will be pro-rated for hours and term-time, with placement across schools depending on needs and funding.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people with additional support needs.
• Interest in their development.
• Desirable qualification in childcare.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually or in small groups directed by the class teacher.
• Support pupils personal care needs.
• Provide supervision for pupils in playgrounds, corridors, dining area, during PE or trips.
• Contribute to support programmes with the school setting as recommended by other professionals.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment.
