Job summary

Colchester Institute invites applications for an Inclusive Support Practitioner to assist learners with additional needs, enabling access and engagement with learning activities and helping them reach their potential.

You will work under a tutor to raise expectations, provide feedback and monitor support; strong SPaG, ICT skills, and inclusion commitment are essential. 36-week term-time scheduling applies.

Qualifications

• Awareness of learning support in education.
• Confident ICT user (internet, e-mail, Word, Teams).
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Minimum Level 2 English & Maths required.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person or virtual support to designated learners across courses.
• Support learners under the guidance of a tutor to raise their achievements and independence.
• Correct SPaG in learners' work to support learning (not assess).
• Assist learners with mobility and safe campus navigation, including wheelchair use.
• Maintain accurate records in college IT systems and review EHCPs.
• Assist in use of ICT equipment and provide training as needed.
