Job summary

Colchester Institute is seeking an Inclusive Support Practitioner to provide inclusive in-person or virtual support to learners, focusing on literacy, numeracy and independence. You will work with tutors to raise attainment, correct SPaG content non-judgmentally, assist with mobility, and maintain accurate records for EHCPs and progress reports.

The role emphasizes safeguarding diversity, equity and inclusion, with strong ICT skills and experience using college systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting others and to inclusive education.
• Proficient ICT skills and ability to use college IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person or virtual supported learning to designated learners across courses.
• Support learners under guidance of a tutor to raise independence and achievement.
• Assist with SPaG to support learners’ written work without formal assessment.
• Assist with mobility needs and safe campus navigation including wheelchair use.
• Maintain progress records, write reports and review EHCPs for caseload learners.
• Provide training on ICT equipment and assistive technology.
