Job summary

Step into Learning is hiring a Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1, small group and classroom support for learners with diverse needs. You will work under the Lead Tutor and SENDCo to promote independence and achievement in an inclusive environment.

Key requirements include GCSEs in Maths and English, resilience, empathy, and excellent communication. Experience with SEND, safeguarding, and ILPs is highly desirable. Closing date: Friday 18th September 2026; interviews week of 28th Sept 2026.

Qualifications

  • GCSE level maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Patient, calm and resilient with a learner-centred approach.
  • Experience with 1:1 and small group support in education or youth settings.
  • Experience of supporting learners with SEND/SEMH/autism/ADHD.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, learner welfare and boundaries.
  • Good organisation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1, small group and classroom support for learners.
  • Support learners with additional educational, behavioural, social or emotional needs.
  • Assist with ILPs and maintain learner records.
  • Promote learner independence and inclusive participation.
