Job summary

The King Edward VI School in Morpeth invites applications to join our Access Team. The Access Department provides support for students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) and works to enable inclusive access to the curriculum.

You will help students to engage with lessons, support the learning environment and promote inclusive practice. Working hours are 8.45am to 3.30pm on Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri and 8.45am to 4.30pm on Wed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEND (Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities) preferred.
• Knowledge of inclusive education practices and SEN support.

Responsibilities

• Work in classroom or one-to-one with a student to support access to learning with additional needs and physical impairments.
• Establish good relationships with students; promote appropriate behaviour for the learning environment.
• Actively promote inclusive practice within the classroom to ensure acceptance of students.
