Job summary

Horizons Alternative Provision Academy is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support pupils across pathways and to work with SEMH/SEN students. You will assist in delivering engaging lessons, adapt resources, and contribute to behaviour and safety in lessons.

Experience as HLTA or equivalent, with Level 2 English & Maths, and a commitment to inclusive education are essential. The role spans across multiple classes and learning areas within the Trust.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or equivalent or notable teaching assistant experience.
• Level 2 qualification in English and mathematics or equivalent.
• Experience with SEMH/SEN students and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities under teacher direction.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and resources to meet pupil needs.
• Support literacy, numeracy and basic skills programmes.
• Monitor and report pupil progress with colleagues.
• Promote positive behaviour and safe learning environments.
