Job summary

Cambian Great Dunmow School in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated teaching assistant to support teaching staff and help create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment for students aged 11 to 19 with ongoing social, emotional and mental health needs.

You will work 1:1 or 2:1 with some students, assist in setting up activities, using technology or adjusting the environment to suit individual needs, and support teachers to help learners engage in a wide range of activities.

Qualifications

• Assist in creating an inclusive classroom environment and support engagement in activities.

Responsibilities

• Assisting students in their educational and social development.
• Providing support inside and outside of the classroom, so they can fully engage in a wide range of activities.
• Helping to set up activities for students, using technology or adjusting the environment to suit their needs.
• Supporting teachers, engaging with students, providing learning support, and reacting to situations in the classroom in a positive, non-disruptive manner.
• Working 1:1 or 2:1 with some students, to give them the time and support they need to learn.
