Job summary

Derby City Council requires a dedicated teaching assistant to cover a maternity leave at Silverhill Primary School, Derby. The role is 31.25 hours per week during term time, from November 2026 to October 2027, working within the Inclusion Team to support pupils with diverse needs.

You will collaborate with teachers, families and support staff to adapt lessons, promote independence, and ensure inclusive learning experiences for all pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with a wide range of needs, including those with learning difficulties and personal care needs.
• Ability to adapt the curriculum and lesson plans to suit individual children.
• Strong behaviour management and positive learning environment skills.
