Job summary

Abbeyfield School in Wiltshire seeks an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for a maternity cover role. You will work within a motivated team to support teachers and students, providing one-to-one and small-group assistance, and supporting students with SEN, including ASD and ADHD where possible.

Hours are 28.5 per week, term time only (39 weeks per year). The start date is December 2026, with a closing date of Friday 30 October 2026 at 9am.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) such as ASD/ADHD would be advantageous.
• Able to support teachers in the classroom and work with students one-to-one or in small groups.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare within a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in the classroom and with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
• Assist with classroom management and behaviour support as required.
• Contribute to a positive learning environment and assist with SEN/ASD/ ADHD needs where appropriate.
