Job summary

Heart of Yorkshire Education Group is seeking an Inclusion Practitioner for fixed-term maternity cover until June 2027 or until the post holder returns. The role focuses on supporting students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and requires a caring, patient, student-centred approach across campus sites.

You will join the Additional Learning Support team, bringing enthusiasm, flexibility, and a willingness to travel between campuses to support students with their studies.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
  • GCSE A*-C/9-4 in Maths and English or Functional Skills Level 2.
  • Awareness of the 2014 SEND reforms.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and travel between campus sites.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities in their studies.
  • Contribute to the Additional Learning Support team and initiatives.
  • Be flexible with hours and travel between campus sites as required.

Job description

Please note, this role is fixed term for Maternity Cover until June 2027, or until the post holder returns.

If you want to make a difference and are looking for a fulfilling career and role, we are looking for an Inclusion Practitioner with drive and enthusiasm who have direct experience of working with and motivating students.

If you would like to work in an educational setting and you are caring, patient and student-centred, then supporting our students with learning difficulties and / or disabilities may be the post for you. You must have a flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to travel between our campus sites.

What we are looking for:
  • Experience of working with students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
  • A minimum of GCSE A*- C / 9 - 4 in Maths and English, or equivalent for example -Functional Skills Level 2
  • An awareness of the 2014 SEND reforms (Special Educational Needs and -Disabilities)
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to all tasks undertaken
