Job summary

New College Swindon is seeking an Inclusive Learning Lecturer to support students with SEND on a fixed-term contract to November 2027. You will plan and deliver inclusive lessons, act as a personal tutor, and help develop personalised learning programmes.

You will work with Learning Support staff to create a positive, safe learning environment, assess progress and provide feedback, with 0.8 FTE and salary £26,400 - £35,580.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Inclusive Learning Lecturer to join our Inclusive Learning team on a fixed-term contract until November 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver engaging, personalised learning programmes that empower students with SEND to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed in education, employment and independent living.

Working as part of a highly supportive team, you'll deliver outstanding teaching, provide pastoral support and help create an inclusive learning environment where every learner feels valued, challenged and inspired to achieve their ambitions.

What you'll do:

• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that meet the individual needs of learners with SEND.
• Act as a personal tutor, supporting learners' academic progress, wellbeing and personal development.
• Develop personalised learning programmes that enable students to achieve positive outcomes and progress successfully.
• Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records.
• Work collaboratively with Learning Support staff and curriculum colleagues to ensure students receive appropriate support.
• Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment where learners can thrive.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuously improve teaching, learning and assessment.
• Build positive relationships with parents, carers and external agencies where appropriate.
• Embrace innovative teaching methods and digital technologies to enhance the learner experience.

What we're looking for:

• A recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (or a commitment to achieve one within the College's agreed timescales).
• Significant recent experience working with learners with SEND.
• An understanding of assessment practices and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to motivate, inspire and engage learners with a wide range of needs and abilities.
• A proactive and creative approach to curriculum delivery and learner support.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and improving learner outcomes.
• Level 2 English and Maths (or a commitment to achieve these within 24 months of employment).
• A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting young people to succeed.

Salary & Contract

Salary: £26,400 - £35,580 per annum (actual salary)

Full Time Equivalent (FTE): £33,000 - £44,475 per annum

Working Pattern: 0.8 FTE

Contract: Fixed-term until November 2027.
