Job summary

Milk Education is partnering with a friendly primary school in Leeds to recruit an Inclusion & Behaviour Support Assistant. You will support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs across EYFS to KS2, in both mainstream and inclusion provision.

You will work with teachers and SEND staff to deliver targeted support, promoting wellbeing and positive engagement, while building supportive relationships and safeguarding best practices.

Qualifications

  • Has previous experience working with children or young people in an education, care, youth work or pastoral setting.
  • Has supported pupils with additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH or behavioural challenges.
  • Remains calm, patient and consistent when supporting children with differing needs.
  • Can establish positive relationships while maintaining clear expectations and professional boundaries.
  • Is passionate about making a meaningful difference to children’s educational and emotional development.
  • Understands safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or is happy to apply for one.

Responsibilities

  • Work flexibly between mainstream classes and the school’s inclusion hub, responding to the individual needs of pupils.
  • Develop positive relationships that encourage trust, confidence and emotional regulation.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to promote wellbeing, positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEND professionals and pastoral staff to implement personalised support plans.
  • Encourage independence, resilience and positive choices throughout the school day.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour and intervention outcomes.
  • Help maintain a nurturing, inclusive and safe learning environment where every child can thrive.

Inclusion & Behaviour Support Assistant – Primary School

Milk Education is working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Leeds to recruit a dedicated Inclusion & Behaviour Support Assistant.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning. You’ll support pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs, enabling them to engage positively with school life and reach their full potential.

Working across both mainstream classrooms and the school’s specialist inclusion provision, you’ll play a key role in creating a supportive environment where every child feels valued, understood and able to succeed.

Your Role

As an Inclusion & Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
