Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting an Inclusion & Behaviour Support Assistant for a friendly and inclusive primary school in Leeds. The role spans both mainstream classes and the school's inclusion provision, supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs to engage with learning and reach their potential.

You'll work closely with teachers, SEND staff and pastoral teams to deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions, build positive relationships, and monitor progress.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work or pastoral settings.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs including ASC, ADHD, SEMH or behavioural challenges.
• Calm, patient and consistent when supporting children with differing needs.
• Ability to establish positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Passionate about making a difference to children's educational and emotional development.
• Understands safeguarding importance.
• DBS: Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support for pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs across EYFS to KS2.
• Work between mainstream classes and the inclusion hub, responding to individual needs.
• Develop relationships that encourage trust, confidence and emotional regulation.
• Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to promote wellbeing and engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEND professionals and pastoral staff to implement personalised plans.
• Encourage independence, resilience and positive choices throughout the school day.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour and intervention outcomes.
