Job summary

JINGDONG Logistics in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Inbound Team Leader to supervise the inbound team, allocate tasks, coach staff and ensure health and safety standards are followed. You will drive accurate goods receipt and putaway within the WMS, while coordinating with other teams to keep inbound operations efficient.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Team Leader or supervisor in a warehouse/logistics environment.
• Practical experience in manual/personto-goods warehouse operations is essential.
• Experience with inbound operations, stock discrepancies and WMS receiving issues.
• Strong understanding of receiving, stock control, location management and inventory accuracy.
• Experience leading warehouse staff, including labour allocation and attendance management.
• Good knowledge of WMS, handheld scanners and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and make decisions under pressure.
• Commitment to Health & Safety and operational compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the Inbound team with task allocation, training and feedback.
• Plan, organise and monitor daily Inbound activities including container unloading and putaway.
• Manage labour allocation to ensure inbound processing is safe and efficient.
• Ensure goods are received accurately into the WMS and meet timelines and quality standards.
• Oversee the pre-sorting process to prepare for putaway and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with Inventory, Outbound and other teams to resolve stock-related issues and maintain records.
• Monitor Inbound KPIs and complete shift handovers with priorities for the next shift.
• Support continuous improvement to enhance inbound flow, productivity and space utilisation.

About The Team

You'll be joining the JINGDONG Logistics team, which values collaboration, ownership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Job Duties

• Supervise and lead the Inbound team, providing clear task allocation, training, coaching and performance feedback.
• Plan, organise and monitor daily Inbound activities, including container unloading, receiving, pre‑sorting, checking, putaway, replenishment support and stock movement.
• Manage labour allocation across unloading, pre‑sorting and putaway work areas to ensure inbound volume is processed safely and efficiently.
• Ensure goods are received accurately into the WMS and completed within required timelines and quality standards.
• Oversee the pre‑sorting process to ensure stock is correctly separated, labelled and prepared for putaway.
• Monitor putaway progress, backlog, location utilisation and productivity; adjust priorities and manpower where required.
• Investigate and resolve Inbound exceptions, including quantity discrepancies, damaged stock, missing labels, incorrect SKU information, system‑receiving issues, location issues and supplier‑delivery discrepancies.
• Work closely with Inventory, Outbound and other operational teams to resolve stock‑related issues and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Manage employee attendance, lateness, performance, conduct and Health & Safety compliance during the shift.
• Ensure employees follow SOPs, safe unloading practices, MHE rules and warehouse quality standards.
• Monitor Inbound KPIs, including receiving timeliness, putaway completion, productivity, backlog, inventory accuracy and exception levels.
• Complete clear shift handovers, including outstanding delivery, putaway backlog, stock discrepancies, system issues and priorities for the following shift.
• Support continuous improvement activities to improve Inbound flow, productivity, safety and space utilisation.

Job Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor or senior operative within a warehouse, logistics, e‑commerce or distribution environment.
• Practical experience in a manual/person‑to‑goods warehouse is essential.
• Experience of container unloading, goods receiving, pre‑sorting and putaway operations is essential.
• Experience handling Inbound operational exceptions, stock discrepancies and WMS receiving issues.
• Strong understanding of warehouse receiving, stock control, location management and inventory accuracy.
• Previous experience leading warehouse employees, including labour allocation, attendance and performance management.
• Good knowledge of WMS, handheld scanning equipment and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills.
• Able to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong commitment to Health & Safety, quality and operational compliance.
• Reach Truck licence and practical Reach Truck experience are preferred.
• Counterbalance, VNA or other MHE licences would be advantageous.
• Flexible to work different shifts, weekends and peak periods where required.
