Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking experienced Science Tutors to provide personalised tuition to learners across Berkshire. These in-person roles support students with SEND and SEMH needs, delivering one-to-one or small-group sessions and building strong, trusting relationships with learners and parents.

Tutors will adapt lessons to individual abilities, monitor progress and communicate professionally with carers and professionals as required. Salary will reflect qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Strong subject knowledge in Science.
• Experience working with children or young people in an educational, tutoring or support setting.
• Experience working with students with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
• The ability to adapt teaching and learning approaches to meet individual needs.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Delivering one-to-one or small-group Science tuition.
• Supporting learners across areas of Science, depending on age, ability and learning needs.
• Supporting students with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
• Planning engaging, accessible and personalised Science lessons and activities.
• Adapting teaching approaches to suit individual abilities, learning needs and levels of engagement.
• Building positive, consistent and trusting relationships with learners.
• Monitoring progress and providing appropriate feedback.
