Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking a patient and experienced 1:1 SEND Science Tutor in Wokingham to provide personalised tuition in person. The tutor will adapt lessons to meet the student’s needs, focusing on progress, confidence and independence within the Secondary Science curriculum.

The role requires experience with SEND students, ability to tailor teaching approaches, and a calm, empathetic attitude. A current enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Science at secondary level, including SEND settings.
• Good understanding of the Secondary Science curriculum and classroom adaptations.
• DBS check and satisfactory references are required.
• Right to work in the UK and ability to work in-person in Wokingham.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one Science tuition tailored to the student's needs.
• Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons across the Science curriculum.
• Adapt teaching pace, resources and methods to suit the learner.
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to student and carers.
• Build a supportive, calming learning environment and safeguard at all times.
• Collaborate with parents, schools and other professionals involved.
