Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking a qualified Science Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition for a pupil accessing EOTAS in Wokingham. The role offers 4.5 hours per week with flexible days/times, and is delivered in the pupil's home.

You will tailor sessions to individual needs and monitor progress with ongoing support from the Quantum Scholars team. Required: QTS or equivalent, strong Science knowledge, secondary experience, and DBS on Update Service (or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent required.
• Strong subject knowledge across Science.
• Experience teaching Science, ideally at secondary level.
• Experience providing 1:1 tuition desirable.
• Experience with learners with additional needs advantageous.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 Science tuition tailored to the learner’s needs.
• Plan and prepare Science lessons and activities.
• Adapt teaching approaches to maintain engagement.
• Build a positive relationship with the pupil.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback.
• Encourage confidence, independence and a positive attitude to learning.
• Maintain clear records of sessions and progress.
• Liaise with parents, carers and Quantum Scholars team.
