Job summary

GreenSquareAccord, based in Birmingham, seeks an experienced Legal Manager to join its in-house Legal Services team. You will advise on social housing matters, support external counsel, and help build a cost-effective legal function aligned with the organisation's mission to provide safe, quality homes.

Qualifications

• Qualified legal professional with strong housing law knowledge.
• Experience in an in-house legal function, ideally in social housing.
• Able to manage external advisers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on social housing matters including tenancy management, possession proceedings, disrepair, ASB and property issues.
• Support management of external solicitors and legal service providers.
• Review housing litigation processes and improve efficiency and service delivery.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to provide practical, commercially aware legal advice.
• Support development of an effective, compliant, value-for-money legal service.
• Monitor legislative changes and deliver training where required.
• Assist with legal budget management and external resources.
