Job summary

GreenSquareAccord Limited is seeking an experienced Legal Manager to join our in-house Legal Services team in Birmingham. You will provide specialist legal advice on housing matters, support colleagues across the organisation and help develop our in-house legal function.

You will work closely with the Head of Legal to review processes, manage external solicitors, and ensure a compliant, value-for-money service while supporting our commitment to safe, quality homes.

Qualifications

• Qualified legal professional with strong housing law knowledge.
• Experience in an in-house legal function, ideally within social housing.
• Experience managing relationships with external advisers and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and identify legal risks.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on social housing matters including tenancy management, possession proceedings, disrepair, ASB and property issues.
• Support management of external solicitors, legal counsel and service providers.
• Review housing litigation processes and identify efficiency improvements.
• Work with stakeholders to provide practical, commercially aware legal advice.
• Support development of an effective, compliant, value-for-money legal service.
• Monitor regulatory changes and deliver training as required.
• Support legal budget management and efficient use of external resources.
