Job summary

This Northamptonshire based construction business seeks a hands-on Financial Controller to bring the finance function in-house and lead a small team. You will produce monthly management accounts, manage month-end, cashflow, VAT and audit, with clear insight to support growth and new operations.

The role offers a path to Financial Director and a brand-new office with 1 day WFH, alongside a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• Hands-on management accounting with month-end and cashflow knowledge.
• Experience in construction/project-based environments is advantageous.
• Experience leading a small finance team and robust Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Bring the finance function fully in-house and manage month-end for the group.
• Produce monthly management accounts and cash flow forecasts.
• Oversee payroll, VAT returns and external audit processes.
• Lead and develop a small finance team and improve reporting processes.
• Provide financial insight to support growth and new operations.
