Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is representing a well established building and civil engineering business in Northamptonshire to recruit an ambitious Financial Controller. The role offers a clear route to Finance Director and a chance to shape a growing, entrepreneurial organisation.

You will lead a commercially focussed finance function, manage the accounts team, oversee VAT, asset registers and procurement, and work with banks to maximise tax efficiency and liquidity.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or qualified by experience (QBE)
• Experience in construction or civil engineering finance
• Strong strategic planning and commercial focus
• Ability to lead a finance team and interact with external partners

Responsibilities

• Compile monthly management accounts for multiple entities
• Submit monthly VAT returns for group of companies
• Line manage the accounts staff and accounts manager
• Manage relationships with financial institutions
• Oversee asset register management
• Ensure procurement aligns with company accounts
• Identify and implement strategic tax efficiency opportunities
