Job summary

ALS Recruiting Ltd is seeking an experienced Ocean Import Operator to coordinate end-to-end import shipments and provide excellent customer service in the UK. Based in Ipswich, you will manage ocean freight imports from start to finish, liaise with overseas agents and clients, and ensure accurate documentation and customs information.

You will use CargoWise to track, trace and update statuses, plan final delivery, and issue invoices while building strong client relationships for long‑term

• Managing end-to-end import sea freight shipments
• Liaising with overseas agents, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely cargo dispatch
• Accurately managing shipments using CargoWise
• Ensuring timely receipt and processing of documents and customs clearance information
• Planning and organising final delivery in line with client needs
• Proactively track and trace shipments, addressing any delays or issues
• Ensuring client SOPs are consistently followed
• Issuing accurate invoicing and job costing
• Building strong relationships with clients to maximise long-term business opportunities
