About the Role:

An independent and well-established freight forwarder is seeking an experienced Import/Export Clerk to join their growing team. This position offers a balanced role of 50% Imports and 50% Exports, with a strong emphasis on solid Export experience as a key requirement.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated individual with a proactive approach and at least 5 years of hands-on freight forwarding experience, particularly in exports, to step into a pivotal role.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To manage the end-to-end operations of both, import and export shipments, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and excellent customer service, with a particular focus on export processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle export shipments independently, ensuring all country-specific regulations and documentation are met.
• Manage the full cycle of import shipments, from pre-alerts to final delivery.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and overseas agents.
• Resolve customer queries and manage any issues with professionalism.
• Oversee the correct and timely flow of documentation for both imports and exports.
• Ensure accurate and prompt billing in line with company policies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Incoterms, supplier conditions, and purchasing terms.
• Utilize freight forwarding software for tracking, documentation, and invoicing.
• Prioritize workload and meet deadlines effectively.

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of solid freight forwarding experience, with a strong focus on Exports.
• Proven experience handling export shipments independently from start to finish.
• Good knowledge of import procedures and customs compliance.
• Strong understanding of export documentation and regulations.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficient in using freight systems and general IT software.
• Ability to manage tasks independently and prioritize workload.
• Good organizational and problem-solving abilities.
