Job Summary

Dynamic family-run Freight Forwarders with over a 35-year history are seeking an experienced Import/Export Operations person to join their team in Witham.

Location: Witham

Salary: £32K-£35K

Benefits: 20 days annual leave + Bank Holidays + extra holidays after 1 year of service, company pension scheme, performance reviews, free parking, team nights out

Hours: 8-5pm

Responsibilities

1. Manage export shipments from start to finish, ensuring compliance with all country-specific regulations.
2. Serve as the main point of contact for customers, providing excellent service and updates.
3. Handle import and export shipments, ensuring operational procedures are followed.
4. Manage documentation flow, including customs paperwork and invoicing.
5. Arrange bookings for air, sea, and road freight.
6. Support suppliers and customers with queries, resolving issues promptly.
7. Ensure timely billing and manage files from start to finish.
8. Work independently and collaboratively within the team.
9. Apply Incoterms, supplier conditions, and delivery terms correctly.
10. Maintain high data accuracy in all system inputs and invoicing.
11. Proactively manage and resolve customer queries and complaints.

Requirements

1. Proven experience in freight forwarding import/export operations.
2. Experience managing full shipment lifecycles (air, sea, road).
3. Knowledge of freight systems and invoicing tools.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Highly organized with multitasking abilities.
6. Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
