Job summary

Mencap is recruiting for a full-time Tutor/HLTA to join the Supported Internship programme in the Black Country. The role focuses on delivering educational elements, employability skills and functional English & Maths from Entry to Level 2 for learners with learning disabilities, difficulties, and/or autism.

You will create engaging lessons, develop practical life skills, and collaborate with the team to help learners access paid employment.

Qualifications

Experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities, learning difficulties, and/or autism.
Experience delivering functional skills in English & Maths to Level 2.
Proven ability to deliver against targets and KPI’s.
Experience with diverse learners and strong behaviour management.

Responsibilities

Inspire learners with engaging lessons integrating English and maths into employability skills.
Develop essential life skills for independence.
Design innovative lessons to spark curiosity and learning.
Collaborate with the team to support learners and secure paid employment.
Deliver accredited qualifications in English and Maths at levels relevant to learners.
Plan effectively with a full day per week for planning and administration tasks.
Support flexible annual leave to promote work-life balance.
