Job summary

Mencap Training Academy in Birmingham is seeking dedicated Skills Coaches (job coaching and classroom support) to join the team on a full-time or part-time permanent basis. You will drive employability programs, including Supported Internships, by delivering tailored support to learners with SEND.

You will be responsible for learner progression in the workplace, 1-1 coaching, developing employability skills, embedding English and Maths, and supporting classroom learning so learners can secure

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting individuals.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve targets.
• Strong understanding of safe working practices.
• A good knowledge of the Educational and SEN sectors.
• GCSE English & Maths (A-C/9-4 or equivalent).
• Proficient ICT skills.
• Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities.
• Valid UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle for frequent travel within the wider Birmingham area.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for learner progression in the workplace and outcomes.
• Deliver 1-1 job coaching and support learners to develop employability skills.
• Embed English and Maths learning in the workplace.
• Support learning during classroom settings.
• Help learners achieve sustained paid employment.
