Job summary

Telford & Wrekin Council is seeking a Tenancy Sustainment Officer to support tenants in sustaining their tenancies and preventing homelessness. You will work with tenants and landlords to manage tenancies, provide budgeting advice, and link clients to support services, with a focus on practical housing outcomes.

The role involves face-to-face customer contact, office work, and a hybrid working arrangement with some home-based activity. Full training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential; full training provided.
• Ability to work face-to-face with clients and in an office; hybrid working model.
• Clear understanding of budgeting, tenancies and linking with support services.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to tenants to sustain their tenancy and prevent homelessness.
• Work with tenants and landlords to manage tenancies and encourage landlords to house clients who are at risk of homelessness.
• Offer reassurance to landlords and coordinate with other support services to help tenants meet tenancy obligations.
