Job summary

Chorlton High School in Manchester is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 1 to join our supportive, inclusive secondary school team. This permanent, part-time role (30 hours/week) runs during term time plus one week, with a pro-rata salary of £19,180.

You will assist in delivering learning support, preparing resources, managing behaviour, and monitoring pupil progress under supervision of teachers and leaders, contributing to safeguarding and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Has Level 2 qualifications (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Experience of working with or caring for children is desirable.
• Demonstrates good numeracy and literacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Support access to learning for individuals, small groups and 1:1.
• Assist in preparing classroom resources and provide curricular administrative support.
• Support teachers in managing behaviour in class and around school.
• Provide feedback on pupil progress and maintain records.
• Respond to pupils’ welfare needs, including basic first aid.
• Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
